Franschhoek favourites – four new must-visit places to add to your agenda

Franschhoek has never suffered from a shortage of cultural offerings, its bars, cafés, vineyards and restaurants well acquainted with international acclaim. But even the world’s most well-established hot spots need a face lift from time to time.

Never content to rest on its laurels, Franschhoek is constantly reinventing itself, with a slew of new attractions an inevitability every summer season. If you’re planning on a repeat visit in the near future, we’ve rounded up some of the valley’s finest new offerings that you’ll definitely want to add to your to-do list:

If you fancy something a little different from the usual winelands gastronomic experience, look no further than Marigold, Franschhoek’s first authentic Indian restaurant. The eatery, which offers up an enticing menu inspired by the aromatic and spicy cuisine of Northern India, adds an exotic new twist to town’s well-established culinary offering. You can expect to excite your palate with a variety of Indian dishes such as fragrant curries, biryanis and succulent meat cooked in a charcoal tandoor.
